On the morning of our last day in Assisi we went back to the basilica to get one last look at the Giotto frescoes. The church was in the midst of a special service and while we didn't get a last look at the frescoes, we did have a front row (next to the church doors) view of the procession from the city into the duomo. As near as we could find out, this was a town benevelant society and was celebrating a fund raising event.
